Provinz International has been founded as an international network of entrepreneurs and scholars coming from a number of institutions, schools, universities and non-government-organisations.

Provinz International intends to gain wide recognition as an educational organisation and is dedicated to the following aims:

• Linking scholars and persons engaged in the cultural sector from different nations with members currently hailing from Chile, Egypt, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Spain, Tanzania, United Kingdom and the USA.

• Promoting trans-national educational policies in Europe to overcome social, ethnical or economic rifts and conflicts in the age of globalisation.

• Pursuing the concept of life-long-learning with education as a future-oriented resource for the community and the individual.

• Following a multilingual approach in the seminar and course programme (tandem-learning).

• Mediating between top-down and bottom-up politics in Europe with politics-oriented research and practice.

Political opinion building in Europe should not only be a result of the input from the metropoles but also requires new impulses and information from European provinces and rural regions. Many of the regionally and locally active citizens' networks have their origins in rural areas.

Internationality evolves when local thinking begins to develop a broader horizon. Thus, we are confident that we will benefit from an open-minded local environment for our ideas.

In short: We wish to become committed to the former hunting lodge Göhrde in Northern Germany, a location with a long tradition in interdisciplinary education, hoping to contribute a European dimension to the regional educational programme.
